At EDA Soccer, we believe that soccer is more than a game, It's a way to communicate with people around the world. With that in mind, EDA sponsors various humanitarian projects for our players to make that personal connection. Kids learn they can change the world, one small step at a time.
For the past three years EDA players collected soccer equipment and raised money for the Mansally Foundation in Gambia, Africa. The players raised thousands of dollars by hosting clinics, and having various fundraisers and donated thousands of cleats. They also collected school supplies, filled backpacks and wrote letters to the kids in Gambia. They raised money to feed hundreds of people, paid for medical care, and learned that helping others can be fun. At the end of those three years, the kids sent a 40 yard shipping container to Gambia filled with everything they'd collected.
In 2018 the kids are working to help Amputee Soccer players in Haiti by collecting used soccer equipment and raising money for forearm crutches used to play amputee soccer. The cost of the crutches is $25-$60 per pair. We also collect school supplies to be sent to Haiti along with the soccer gear.
